The most advanced civil helicopter simulator available and one of only eight in the world directly supported by the AW139 aircraft manufacturer.
The AW139 Level D Full Flight Simulator offers unique training advantages not available in the real aircraft, and the highest available fidelity to thoroughly prepare aircrews for mission scenarios. It allows in particular:
- The training on emergency procedures not actually playable in the real aircraft, in total safety;
- The reduction, if not the elimination of the training burden on the real aircraft;
- Guaranteed training hours, not influenced by weather conditions or operational / engineering priorities;
- A more cost –effective solution for Australian and regional AW139 operators compared to other facilities (nearest comparable simulator being currently in Malaysia);
- A highly realistic simulation of take-offs, approaches and landings from common aerodromes, helipads, helidecks and operating areas via a high definition visual database (with options to tailor environments from nominated locations), in all kind of environmental conditions (day, night, wind, clouds, rain and snow, dust, etc.);
- Training on night vision goggles (NVG);
- Full recording and step-by-step replay of the training session
- In-board and off-board Instructor Operating Stations for more flexibility.
CASA has approved the use of a zero-flight-time syllabus for the AW139 type conversion on this simulator.
